Amy Manley, LSWAIC

Hello! My name is Amy Manley and I am an LSWAIC (NPI 1598576902) in the state of Washington. I received my master’s in social work (MSW) at Arizona State University in 2024. Prior to this, I received a BA in Education from City University of Seattle in 2015 with a certificate in special education. I am currently working under the supervision of (Diane Hopkins LW61007456) while gaining expert experience and required hours to become fully licensed.

During 2023-2024 I gained clinical social work experience working in an outpatient private practice where I provided individual, couple, family, and adolescent counseling services. I worked with a diverse low-income population where I enjoyed learning to utilize Cognitive Behavior therapy (CBT), Art therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) to support those experiencing anxiety, attachment disorders, depression, trauma, and grief and loss.

There are times in life when we are presented with heightened anxiety, and or depression all while navigating trauma. I believe that creating an empathetic and holistic environment where clients feel welcome and heard is essential. I utilize empathy, and active listening skills with a trauma-informed care and client-centered approach.

Counseling may support us in learning about our thought patterns and how to increase self-esteem, manage depression, navigate grief and loss, and heal from past trauma. I primarily follow Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Art therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), the Gottman method, and utilize the client-centered method. The therapeutic alliance between the client and the Counselor is essential in building trust and rapport. I am honored to meet clients “where they are” and provide client-centered therapy, where the client can gain and practice effective skills that they can continue to utilize.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with family, walking trails with my dog, and painting.
