Jess Cummings
Intern
I (Jess Cummings) am a Charmed Counseling intern. I am completing my master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling through Northwestern University with an expected graduation date of June 2024. Prior to this, I received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Washington State University in 2012 and a Master of Arts in Special Education with a visual impairment emphasis from the University of Northern Colorado in 2014. I served as a special education teacher for children with visual impairments for 5 years and have been inspired to pursue a career as a counselor by the
children and families, I worked with as a teacher. I am passionate about helping all people, particularly individuals and families impacted by disability, to experience optimal wellness through mental health counseling. I enjoy integrating person-centered techniques, elements of acceptance and commitment therapy and other creative approaches to meet the individual needs of the clients I serve. Counseling may empower clients toward greater mental, relational and emotional wellness. It may also serve as a time for processing and gathering strategies to cope with life’s challenges. As a
counselor, it is my goal to facilitate sessions that are welcoming, inclusive and empowering. During my internship, I meet with a Clinical Supervisor weekly to continue my growth and development as a counselor.
I work under the direct supervision of Jessica Weed, a licensed mental health counselor. (LH61380825). All consultations with my Supervisor are confidential. I offer services via both in-person and telehealth and will accommodate whichever method best suits your needs. Ilook forward to working with you.
