Jessica Weed
LMHC
I, (Jessica Weed), am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington (LH61380825). I graduated with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Midwifery from The Midwives College of Utah and was previously a Licensed Midwife and a Certified Professional Midwife. I am trained in DBT, CBT, Exposure Therapy, EMDR, Polyvagal, Somatic Experiencing, EFT, adult attachment, grief, and perinatal/postpartum mood disorders.
I am passionate about helping people find ways to improve their lives and relationships. I work with individuals with PTSD, anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, birth trauma, perinatal mood issues, postpartum adjustment, compassion fatigue/burnout, OCD, and relationship difficulties. I also work with couples to help improve communication, reduce conflict, and increase healthy adult attachment patterns. I support clients in improving interpersonal communication skills, learning to set healthy boundaries, identifying emotions, connecting emotions to a felt sense within the body, processing traumas, setting goals for themselves, and learning skills to improve their mental health and their relationships.
I come to counseling as a second career, having worked as a midwife, doula, and doula trainer. Because of this background, I see our counseling relationship as collaborative. I am your guide towards better mental health, but you are the driver. I respect your autonomy and work in collaboration with you on a treatment plan that best meets your needs. I believe in the Carl Rogers philosophy of unconditional positive regard, which means that I believe you have within you everything you need to become emotionally healthy. We will work together on building skills in an atmosphere of acceptance and non-judgment of your process.
In addition to being a counselor at Charmed, I am also the Intern Coordinator. This job helps me to infuse my love of teaching with my love of counseling. I am also a conference speaker focusing on self-care practices and preventing burnout.
In my off time, I enjoy traveling with my husband and children, hiking, swimming, meditation, and participating in empowerment workshops. I look forward to working with you and watching you heal and grow!
